For 4 days now there has been no way to reach Altercom, which I normally wouldn’t care about, except for the fact that this disappearing act has also brought about the loss of my personal email, and several websites I’m affiliated with, such as Meet-O-Matic. Nothing reported in newsgroups, no commentary anywhere, no email alerts sent out, my own email to them bounces, and their phone number lets me leave an answering machine message, to which I have received no reply. Good thing my life and my income don’t depend on the virtual hosting facilities there. But nevertheless I’m paying them good money, which I guess I’ll have to put a stop to and find another service! Ouch. I figure if they’ve been victims of a Denial of Service Attack or brought down somewhow that this would be in the tech news somewhere; hmmmm I’ll give them one more day then cancel my monthly payment if I hear nothing.
